Jacob Banigan (CAN, A)
Jacob Banigan is an improvisational theater specialist with over 20 years experience. He worked as Artistic Director of Canada's Rapid Fire Theatre from 1995 - 2004. In that time he produced Theatresports and created the long-form show CHiMPROV and the IMPROVAGANZA festival. In Graz, Jacob currently works with RED NOSES, and as an ensemble memeber of Theater Im Bahnhof. In Vienna he performs with English Lovers, and he tours Europe and North America with Rocket Sugar Factory. He has taken first place in many improv competitions including the annual Austrian Theatersports Championships in Linz several times over, and the FIFA Theatersports World Cup in 2006.

The clown must improvise. Every situation is new and different, and the clown reacts with the given circumstances to create a narrative. To do this, one must be open yet focused, able to accept and build on any moment or idea that is in the room. The techniques in Impro Theater give us the tools to say "Yes" to everything, trust in the moment, make our partners look good, and deliver a story. In this workshop, we will use impro games and tools to unlock our inner storyteller and create a space where an idea can appear and a story can grow.
Workshop will be offered in English, with translation available. Participants may work in the language of their choosing.
