Eduard Luis (A)
Founder of the „Musikwerkstatt“ (www.musikwerkstatt.at), lives in Graz/Austria. He acts as freelance multi-instrumentalist, anchorman, conductor, vocalist, coach and promoter. He graduated studies and master classes with W. Darling, A. Schachenhofer, G. Karr, N.H. Pederson, and A. Krawagna (Contrabass), Jon Sass (tuba), H. Posch and F. Kitt (violoncello), G. Kenda (vocals), G. Eitljörg and G. Orthaker (drums), M. Wiederhofer, M. Nardelli and L. Witoszynsky (guitar), M. Obertscheider (acting), Hermann Härtel (folk music and improvisation/Austria), Milos Milojevic (folk music/Balkan) Anna Nyander (folk music/Skandinavia), Kurt Neuhauser (baroque music and improvisation), and Stjepko Gut (Jazzimprovisation).
Since 2004 Eduard Luis teaches Improvisation and Musical Form Design for instrumentalists and vocalists at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as double-bass player and leader of the houseband in Joe Zawinuls Birdland (Vienna). 2008 to 2010 he joined the HGM Jazz Orchestar Zagreb conducted by Sigi Feigl. Since 2010 Eddie Luis holds the musical leadership oft he „Nice Little Theatre“ in Graz.

The second course gives participants the opportunity to further develop what they have learnt from previous Eddie Luis workshops. Besides learning finger picking techniques for the ukulele or individual vocal exercises for the more advanced, you will also learn different song writing techniques.
Participants learn what rules apply when writing pop songs, traditional songs and even the blues. Which chords are related to each other? How do I find my ideal pitch range? How do I sing, play or compose for the second voice? All these questions and much more will be discussed in this workshop, just like how to further develop your personal musical skills or other personal advice you might need.
