Eduard Luis (A)
Founder of the „Musikwerkstatt“ (www.musikwerkstatt.at), lives in Graz/Austria. He acts as freelance multi-instrumentalist, anchorman, conductor, vocalist, coach and promoter. He graduated studies and master classes with W. Darling, A. Schachenhofer, G. Karr, N.H. Pederson, and A. Krawagna (Contrabass), Jon Sass (tuba), H. Posch and F. Kitt (violoncello), G. Kenda (vocals), G. Eitljörg and G. Orthaker (drums), M. Wiederhofer, M. Nardelli and L. Witoszynsky (guitar), M. Obertscheider (acting), Hermann Härtel (folk music and improvisation/Austria), Milos Milojevic (folk music/Balkan) Anna Nyander (folk music/Skandinavia), Kurt Neuhauser (baroque music and improvisation), and Stjepko Gut (Jazzimprovisation).
Since 2004 Eduard Luis teaches Improvisation and Musical Form Design for instrumentalists and vocalists at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as double-bass player and leader of the houseband in Joe Zawinuls Birdland (Vienna). 2008 to 2010 he joined the HGM Jazz Orchestar Zagreb conducted by Sigi Feigl. Since 2010 Eddie Luis holds the musical leadership oft he „Nice Little Theatre“ in Graz.

In order to better understand oneself and the other participants, we will play games and exercises geared towards sensibilizing our bodies and our senses. In doing so, you can not only gauge your musical abilities and skills, but also refresh and develop them by displaying consideration, tolerance, creativity and possibly a good portion of self-irony.
In this workshop participants are given a framework in which they can learn new songs and will have a platform for designing, exchanging their musical talents with other clowns or even learning a completely new musical instrument. One's own voice plays an important role here. It's unique and distinctive, just like a finger print. In a series of exercises we will get to know, work on and practice the most important genres, e. g. musicals, opera, love songs, rock 'n' roll, folk songs, blues, children's songs, etc. This will all be done with and without instrumental help. Please bring your instruments with you!
